It is with great pleasure that the Society for Internation Trade and Competition Law (SITC) announces the successful completion of the 4th Edition of the NUJS National Competition Law Moot. The said competition took place from 8th November to 10th November 2024. The competition was held with ease and elegance thanks to the support of Victor Moses & Co., Policy Bazaar, State Bank of India, SCC OnLine and SCC Times.
The competition provided an opportunity for the students to tackle the tricky and fast-moving subject of “Competition laws and regulations in digital markets”. The problem had the participants delve into the difficulties of regulating digital behemoths as they grapple with market dominance and anti-competitive practices, balancing between innovation and fair competition.
The intricacies of the problem and the excellent standard of teams meant a most eminent selection of judges. We offer our thanks to our Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Nirmal Kanti Chakraborty for supporting us with all our endeavours.
We would also like to thank our esteemed judges: Mr. Manas Kumar Chaudhuri (Khaitan & Co.), Mr. Aniruddha Chatterjee (Advocate, Calcutta High Court) Ms. Ashoo Gupta (Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co.), Ms. Debjani Ghosh (Victor & Moses Co.) and Prof. (Dr.) V.K. Unni (Professor, IIM Calcutta and distinguished alumnus of NALSAR University), and everyone else that helped make this event successful.
Our heartfelt thanks to our very own Prof (Dr.) Lovely Dasgupta, Dr. Paramita Dasgupta, Ms. Kanchan Yadav and Mr. Aman Gupta, who provided invaluable support for the event.
A total of twenty teams from all over the country participated for the top prize. The battle of wits and words commenced in exciting fashion. We give our heartiest congratulations to the winning team - Symbiosis Law School, Pune, that emerged victorious in the competition.
The resounding success of the 4th Edition of the NUJS National Competition Law Moot is a testament to the collective dedication of our participants, sponsors, judges, and faculty. The exceptional standard of talent and debate on show was truly been inspiring.
